As the weather cools down, there’s even more reason to head into the city for a delicious dining experience. And tucked away in the heart of the CBD is one of our favourite Mexican restaurants, created by the crew behind Paddington’s Tequila Mockingbird.

That’s right, the team from the newly opened Esteban Mexican restaurant are launching live music nights at this laneway eatery and bar this autumn. Get ready for ESTEBANd, bringing live Latin music nights to 1 Temperance Lane in the CBD.

Running every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night over the next three months, expect a live music extravaganza complete with authentic Mexican dishes. The program has been launched in collaboration with the City of Sydney and the NSW Government’s Rediscover Sydney Campaign (a grant funding program bringing the city to life with live music, performance, and art activations).

At ESTEBANd, expect Latin-inspired performances from Samba bands, tango artists, Cuban acoustic artists, sultry Salsa solos, a Rumba and Funk trio playing over 20 instruments and so much more.

Alongside this epic dose of live music, Esteban will be treating guests to their innovative dining menu of authentic Mexican flavours, served in their alfresco laneway area or across their split-level indoor venue.

As for the menu at Esteban, expect regional dishes and traditional Mexican cooking techniques that demonstrate the versatility of Mexican cuisine. Some of their signature dishes include Taco Al Pastor, Wattleseed Rubbed Duck Breast, 1KG Wagyu Delmonico Rib Eye, and Tres Camotes – a dessert comprised of sweet potato tart, sweet potato ice cream, and sweet potato meringue.

Plus, make sure to try their signature Margarita flight, featuring 3 mini-Margarita-style cocktails paired with 3 signature tacos.
