Rally behind the Lebanese community and raise relief funds by taking part in Australia’s virtual Lebathon auction.
When tragedy strikes, it can be difficult to know what to do. As images of the recent explosions in Beiruit hit TV screens and news bulletins across the globe, the world watched in horror at what had occurred. And for many Aussies, finding practical ways to help those in need of urgent assistance was at the top of our list. So, this latest fundraising initiative is here to do just that.
Lebathon is the silent auction taking place entirely online, giving Australians the chance to raise funds for not-for-profit organisations working to help those in need in Lebanon. Running now until August 28th, 2020, the virtual fundraiser has been organised by members of the Lebanese-Australian community, all coming together to pledge their goods and services as part of this silent social-media auction.
The auction is raising funds for Impact Lebanon, a NPF organisation on a mission to raise $13 million for the Lebanon relief effort. The organisation is partnered with 3QA will help ensure the funds raised are distributed to critical initiatives helping those on the ground in Lebanon.
So, what’s up for grabs in this epic silent auction? Punters can bid on everything from restaurant vouchers to jewellery and apparel as well as staycation experiences and beauty treatments. Here are some of our favourite picks from the current selection of auction items:
- A $200 Mary’s Burger voucher
- A $300 restaurant voucher for Matteo Double Bay or The Lobo Bar
- A two-night staycation in the deluxe suite of Hotel Palisade
- A private home dining experience hosted by the team from Knafeh Bakery
