Well, hold onto your popcorn, folks, because IMAX Sydney just got a major upgrade! That’s right, EVT has just been announced as the operator of the iconic IMAX theatre located within the Ribbon at Darling Harbour, and it’s set to be a game-changer.
This will be the fourth IMAX operated by EVT internationally, joining IMAX Auckland, IMAX Queensgate, and IMAX Karlsruhe and will showcase IMAX’s most advanced theatre experience yet.
In addition to an awe-inspiring 693 m2 screen boasting crystal clear, life-like images and precision audio, IMAX Sydney will integrate a groundbreaking 4K laser projection system that features a new optical engine, custom-designed lenses, and a suite of proprietary technology that delivers brighter images with increased resolution and deeper contrast, with the widest range of colours exclusive to IMAX screens. For the less tech-savvy amongst us, this basically means the images are so big and sharp, you’ll feel like you’re in the movie.
Movie-goers will have the option of taking their movie experience to the next level with EVT’s ‘Your Cinema, Your Way’ seating, giving you the freedom to choose from full recliners to private pods and make your cinema experience truly your own. Plus, you can chow down on some awesome nosh at their marketplace food and beverage experience!
