Hey Chú’s “Happy Endings” Brings Budget-Friendly Bites And Cocktails Under $10

Eat, Sydney / 1 May 2024

Who needs deep pockets? Hey Chú’s celebrating their birthday with a budget-friendly feast for all.

In a city where dining out can sometimes feel extravagant, celebrating a restaurant’s first birthday is often an occasion for a celebratory splurge. But Hey Chú, the vibrant Sydney CBD eatery known for its late-night eats and Southeast Asian flavours, is taking a different approach.

To mark their first year, they’re launching a special “Happy Endings” menu, offering a selection of delicious dishes for $10 and under – perfect for those seeking a satisfying and affordable meal.

There’s a touch of nostalgia woven into this menu, with familiar favourites like spring rolls and burgers given a flavourful Hey Chú twist. Think nduja and mozzarella “pizza” spring rolls, succulent fried octopus balls, and a juicy dry-aged beef burger – all for under $10.

And because a “Happy Ending” wouldn’t be complete without a drink, the menu also features a $10 cocktail, a refreshing blend of elderflower, strawberry, vodka, and lemon.

But here’s the catch (and it’s a charming one): the “Happy Endings” menu is strictly cash only. A throwback to simpler times, perhaps, but also a nod to the convenience and immediacy of cash transactions.

This special menu will be available daily from 5-6 pm, offering a delightful way to unwind after work or simply enjoy a casual bite with friends.

The first birthday celebration also extends beyond the “Happy Endings” menu. Hey Chu’s revamped their a la carte menu, staying true to their philosophy of “We’re not fancy, but we’re good.” Expect a fusion of Australian and Southeast Asian flavours, with dishes like chicken katsu burgers and intriguing Asian-inspired pasta.

The Happy Endings menu is only available for a good time, not a long time so it’s perfectly appropriate to suggest this spot for this week’s after-work drinks.
