Grapest 5K Run 2020

Cool Sh*t, Drink, Events, Sydney / 3 July 2020

Have your wine and drink it too at the Grapest 5km Run.

It’s Friday night. You’re about to clock off at work when your friends invite you out for a well-deserved vino. With that in mind, you’ve also skipped the gym three times this week. You’re now faced with the ultimate dilemma. To un-wined or to sweat it out and acknowledge your impending FOMO that you’re not sipping on god’s liquid. Well fret no more, as the Grapest 5km run are proposing a fun run event with a cork-stopping twist.

Those aged 18 years and over are invited to take part in either a 5km or 10km fun run around Australia’s most iconic wine regions. After you’ve walked, ran, skipped and danced the length of the track, enjoy the best kind of cool down with a 1km wine tasting walk through the vineyards where you’ll enjoy 8 wine tastings.

Grapest 2020

The fun doesn’t stop there, as you’re invited to stay and enjoy three hours of toe-tapping live entertainment, delicious food vans, cellar door packages and more wine from a range of award-winning vineyards.

If running really isn’t your thing, there will also be a 1K ‘wine waddle’ where you can enjoy all the wine tastings, minus the fun run.

For Sydneysiders, head to Mudgee on October 31st to explore the Bunnamagoo Estate Wines vineyard. For Melburnians, your fun starts in Geelong on October 10th at the Leura Park Estate. They’ll be a bunch of events across the country with runs at the Lake George Winery in Canberra (November 21st), Cassegrain Wines in Port Macquarie (December 5th) as well as dates to be announced in the Hunter Valley, Queensland and WA.

And in true 2020 style, they’re also hosting two virtual events: a 5k Virtual Run and a 10k Virtual Run, both taking place throughout July. Punters are invited to run, walk or skip your way to the virtual finish line at your own pace.
