It’s no secret that we love our gin, with some of the best bars in Sydney specialising solely in the spirit. This summer, Wilhelmina’s invites you to cool off in the best possible way, as they host a month long celebration of all things gin. Running from 3rd-31st January, this Balmain wine and gin bar is transforming January into ‘Ginuary’, as they get ready to host a range of bespoke gin events along with tasting flights, cocktail specials and more.

Archie vs Poor Tom’s Gin-Off 

Thursday 11 January 2018, starting 7pm
At the premiere event to kick off this month-long celebration, Lachie Beange from Archie Rose will be put up against Jesse Kennedy from Poor Tom’s. In a Sydney Gin Showdown, they will put their gins up against each other, serving two core range gins and talking about the differences and similarities between the two. Who will be the King of Sydney Gins? Head to the event and watch it all go down for yourself.

The Art of Perfumery, presented by Tanqueray

Saturday 13 January, starting 3pm
Here, you’ll learn about the correlation of alcohol as both a drink and the base of perfume and why we use botanicals in both! Your afternoon will begin with a Tanqueray G+T on arrival, where you will next create your own perfume using the very same botanicals in the gin you’re drinking.

Make your own gin martini

Saturday 20th January 2018, starting 3pm
Make your gin and drink it too! Here, you’ll create your own bespoke gin that will then be transformed into a tailored Martini. Guests will blend 100ml of their own gin using a selection of Archie Rose’s pure botanical distillates, before handing it off to the bar for a bespoke Martini to be made.

Four Pillars Masterclass

Wednesday 24th January 2018, starting 7pm
This event will take you on a journey from the back story to starting the Four Pillars Gin brand, right up to their current new releases and what Four Pillars have coming up next! Guests will receive a taste of 3 different FP Gins as well as a limited edition gin, as well as a Four Pillars rare dry + tonic on arrival.

Gin Through the Ages w/ Never Never Distilling Co.

Saturday 27th January 2018, starting 3pm
Start your afternoon with a gin and tonic, before looking at the journey that gin has been on and its uses throughout the years. While sipping on 6 different cocktails, Sean Baxter of Never Never Gin Co. will explain why gin has come to be, where it originated, and the cocktails that have eventuated as its evolved over time.
