Gin lovers, mark your calendar. Gin Palooza is back and better than ever, coming to Sydney for one weekend only.
The gin and tonic. It’s a staple at every bar, and a drink enjoyed by gin connoisseurs around the world. Each bottle demands a different treatment. Some gins will come alive with just a splash of premium tonic and a twist of citrus, while others are best served with a few additional botanical touches. For those looking to try the best of the bunch, this next gin-focused festival will be right up your alley.
After a series of successful events, the Australian Gin Distillers Association is hosting another event for lovers of the aromatic spirit – the Sydney Gin Palooza.
Held over one jam-packed weekend in December 2020, the Christmas Gin Palooza sees 33 of Australia’s top gin distillers under the one roof, popping up at well-known International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC). Think The Farmers Wife, Martin Distillation Company, Newy Distillery, Distillery Botanica, Prohibition Liquor Co, Barossa Distilling, Manly Spirits, Settlers Spirits, Ambleside Distillers and WA’s Giniversity.
For just $60pp, punters will be able to enjoy entry to the festival. This year, things will run a little differently with 3x three-hour sessions across 2 days to give gin connoisseurs ample time to create the G&Ts of their dreams using new release Artisan Tonics expertly mixed with world-class gins.
Want to learn something new? Make sure to swing by leading bartender Mikey Enright’s Cocktail Masterclass (September 5th) for a mind-blowing gin history lesson followed by an engaging demo of classic bartending techniques. Plus, Cape Byron Distillery’s Co-Founder Eddie Brooke will host Brookies Gin Masterclass (September 5th), offering an immersive workshop on how various forest botanicals contribute to the flavour profile of craft gins, including a hands-on cocktail making tutorial.
Plus, punters will also be treated to FREE coffee throughout the weekend (courtesy of Schibello Coffee) as well as a tantalising array of gourmet dishes from cod croquettes to beef sliders, arancini balls, butter chicken and gin cured Atlantic salmon.
