Get your dose of decadent truffles this season at the Canberra’s Truffle Festival.

Truffle season has well and truly arrived for 2020. But, this won’t be the first time you’ve heard us chat about all things truffles. In fact, you might have spotted our new guide to where to eat truffles in Sydney and our recent write-up a new cafe dedicated to all things truffles (and caviar) in Darlinghurst. And this week, we’re bringing you exciting news of a fun festival celebrating our favourite winter delicacy: truffles.

Say hello to the Canberra Region’s 2020 Truffle Festival, a winter event dedicated entirely to the magic of truffles. Since 2009, the festival has been offering a platform for local growers, chefs and the public to indulge in the glory of truffles. Ove the past 11 years the festival has grown from humble beginnings to become a renowned festival of delicious food, wine and truffles (of course).

The 2020 program offers a bunch of fun activities, perfect for a day trip or weekend away for Sydneysiders. Enjoy a delicious truffle-focused meal or attend a truffle hunt and brunch adventure, with dishes including  Truffled Banana Crepes and Truffle Scrambled Eggs.

And when it comes to hunting truffles, this is the festival for you. Join trained truffle dogs for a 1-hour field trip to scout out delicious hidden winter truffles. Various venues and farms across the Canberra region are hosting tastings, hunts and dining experience, so make sure to browse the full festival program here. Plus, don’t miss the Truffle Gala Dinner (with a 3-course menu pair with delicious wines).
