Pay your bill with Instagram likes thanks to FUJIFILM’s social dining concept

Just for Instagramming your food, FUJIFILM will match your ‘likes’ for $ off your bill at Saké.

Did you know that a whopping 49% of Aussies will photograph their food before eating it? This fun titbit was revealed in a recent FUJIFILM research study and comes as little surprise to us foodies on the constant hunt for the perfect #foodporn moment. Capitalising on this occurrence is fine-dining Japanese restaurant Saké Double Bay, who are rewarding Instagram users for capturing the perfect snap of what they eat.

In a move that takes social currency to new heights, FUJIFILM are hosting exclusive sittings at Saké Double Bay, where diners are able to enjoy a curated eight-course set menu and photogenic cocktails designed by head chef Jungbae Cho. Think everything from their hiramasa kingfish infused with jalapeño & lime kosho to steamed prawn dumplings nestled in baskets and the theatrical “dragon egg” with roasted banana hazelnut and cream miso caramel.

The concept is allowing food lovers the chance to dine with friends in their exclusive private dining area and shoot each dish with FUJIFILM’s latest X-T30 camera.

Just for sharing your pictures on Instagram and tagging @fujifilmX_AU with the hashtags #fujifilm #socialdining, you’ll receive a discount on the food menu plus cocktails based on the number of ‘likes’ you receive during the course of the meal. For every like, FUJIFILM will take $1 off the total set menu bill!

For those who might need a little help in the shooting department, fret not. A seasoned photographer will be on hand to help you capture snaps the most established food influencer would be proud of.

This special deal is running for six weeks starting from 18th April, with two FUJIFILM Social Dining sittings available for up to six diners each Thursday at 5:30pm and 7:30pm until 30th May. As you can imagine, this is going to be extremely popular so you’ll want to secure a booking stat.
