Embrace the cooler months with a delicious winter-inspired menu, Sapporo specials, DJs, parties and countless Instagrammable moments at Goros.

Surry Hills’ adored Japanese Izakaya venue, Goros, is giving you every reason to embrace winter with the launch of the ‘Frost Festival’. Inspired by the iconic Sapporo Snow Festival, the six-week event will transport you to Japan where locals spend the cooler months slurping bowls of udon and sipping beers on the slopes.

Immerse yourself in a winter adventure at Goros, complete with ski huts, fairy lights, simulated snow, and countless Instagrammable photo opps. The festivities kick off on the 13th of July with DJs taking the stage the entire weekend.

The talented head chefs and bartenders have created an all-winter-themed menu that is designed to keep you warm from the inside out. Start your night off with Okonomiyaki and Miso Glazed Corn Ribs, then warm up with a hot bowl of Udon Noodles followed by crispy Fried Ice Cream for dessert.

There’ll be three types of Sapporo beer served all month long. Enjoy Sapporo on tap, or sip on Sapporo Black crafted with roasted dark malts and a refined hop bitterness, and Sapporo Yebisu with a rich barley aroma. Cocktail lovers can enjoy Apple Crumble with 42 Below, vanilla, and apple, and the Snowberry Fizz with Bombay Sapphire, Umeshu, lime, raspberry, and whites. There’s also a tropical Jack Frost cocktail with Bacardi Carta Blanca, blue curaçao, coconut, lime, and pineapple, and the Osaka with Kahlua, Sawanotsuru Junmai Yamada Nishiki, coke, and cherry.

Think you’ve got the voice? Head to Goros for a karaoke competition on the 19th of July, and the 2nd and 16th of August, where the one and only Milan Swaay, Goros’ fabulous resident queen, will host and judge the performances. The venue will be filled with thrilling acts as participants compete for $100 in cash each night.

But that’s not all! Save the date for the Retro Ski Party on the 29th of July, where Goros invites all patrons to don their most vibrant and daring retro ski outfits. Show off your style and compete for a chance to win a fabulous prize for the best dressed.

Goros’ Frost Festival is happening from the 13th of July to the 19th of August 2023. We suggest making the most of their Happy Hour between 5pm – 7pm every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday featuring $7 house beers, wines, and spirits, as well as $1 dumplings! Find out more here.
