There’s nothing quite like wandering the cobblestone alleyways of France and following your nose to find rotisserie chicken. Manly locals have just scored some of this goodness with the arrival of Frenchies Rotisserie on Darley Road. As the name suggests, the menu will hero traditional French rotisserie chicken, but that’s not all the new venue has in store.
The team behind the concept is not new to the hospitality scene with their restaurant Frenchies Brasserie in Elanora Heights and Noosa. The decision to open Frenchies Rotisserie in Sydney’s Northern Beaches was easy. The offering is predominantly takeaway and Manly, in particular, has an abundance of beautiful picnic locations with ocean and harbourside views. Frenchies Rotisserie will level up your picnic game this summer!
Chef Guillaume Kuhn is at the helm of the kitchen bringing his culture from growing up in a small farming village near Strasbourg, northeastern France. His experience in French kitchens brings a unique offering to Sydney foodies and his aim is to replicate the experience of discovering a rotisserie chicken shop in France – aromas, flavours and all.
So what’s for lunch? Rotisserie chicken, more commonly known as Poulet Rôti in France, is of course the hero of the menu. The chefs use accredited Bannockburn free-range chicken which is then prepared in their own special, signature Frenchies brine before being slow-cooked on their French-made rotisserie. The result is succulent, juicy chicken that’s full of flavour.
Other offerings will include rotisserie chicken sandwiches, lobster rolls, French terrine and cornichon sandwiches and fish burgers. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill chicken shop. Those with a sweet tooth can choose from house-made French tarts including lemon, dark chocolate, salted caramel and pear & almond. The front display also features croissants, pain au chocolat, baguettes and loaves of sourdough. What more could you need?
Vegans have no fear as you’ll be catered for with traditional frites, falafel wraps, vegan croissants and various salads. The salads are ever-evolving to reflect the best market produce, but some staples will be the Roast Cauliflower, Chargrilled Corn, Tomato & Avocado Salad, and Noodle & Edamame.
Thirsty? Cool off with a cold-pressed juice, French beer or even a bottled cocktail. The team will be shaking up the soon-to-be-famous Miss Frenchies Cocktail, classic and coconut margaritas, classic, espresso and lychee martinis and the Italy to Paris Negroni.

Frenchies Rotisserie will be opened Monday to Sunday from 8am for pastry and juices. The rotisserie will open from 10:30am with the last order at 8pm on weekdays and 9pm on Friday and Saturday.
