Get ready for Fish Shop, now open in the heart of Bondi.

If you’re a fan of all things sushi, you’ll be well acquainted with Fishbowl. The sushi salad empire has taken Sydney by storm, with countless locations across the city. And now, the team from Fishbowl has revealed an exciting new concept that has just launched in Bondi.

Meet Fish Shop, offering a brand-new take on a modern fish shop. It’s set to deliver a fine meet casual dining experience, straddling the line between a restaurant, bar, and old-fashioned fish shop. Expect a counter-service restaurant sling sustainably sourced seafood paired with vibrant salads and modern vegetable dishes.

What sets Fish Shop apart is its focus on sustainable, hard-to-find seafood sourced from Sydney’s top suppliers. It’s the kind of menu that encourages you to pair your fish with a range of condiments, vegetables, sides, and salads.

And since they’re located just footsteps from Bondi Beach, there’s a big focus on takeaway bites too. In fact, you’ll find an entire range of Boxes To Go at Fish Shop, giving you the choice and flexibility to host an impromptu picnic at the beach. A ‘FISH BOX’ will set you back $25 (packed with a fish main, condiment, and any salad or side). Or opt for a lighter ‘LUNCH BOX’ ($19) including a choice of Fish Shop’s own hot smoked trout, salmon gravlax, or tuna confit with any salad, crostini, pickles, and house-made labneh.

And of course, they’ll be a serve of classic battered fish and chips with tartare on the menu too ($19).

For those that choose to dine-in at Fish Shop, soak in the sun and enjoy a delicious feed, a glass of Australian natural wine, or a delicious cocktail. There’s also plenty of snacks including freshly shucked Appellation rock oysters, anchovy toast, and cured fish plates.

At Fish Shop, the kitchen is led by Head Chef Joel Bennett (PIER, Bistrode CBD, Three Blue Ducks, Peppes), bringing over 14 years of experience working with Sydney’s top chefs. Bennett has curated an approachable, seasonal summer menu inspired by the Mediterranean and coastal middle-east.

Fishbowl founders Nathan Dalah, Nic Pestalozzi, and Casper Ettelson are excited to open FISH SHOP in the heart of Bondi (the spot they first opened their OG Fishbowl venue back in 2016).

Fish Shop is now open at 87 Glenayr Avenue’s Sevenways precinct in Bondi (open daily from 12 pm to 10 pm). Find out more here.
