ETERNITYLAND: A 1000m2 Interactive Theatre Experience Is Popping Up In The CBD

Bars, Cool Sh*t, Film & Art, Sydney / 11 July 2022

Combining theatrical storytelling with circus performance, art and live music for guests to choose their own journey through an immersive 20-room set design.

This August, you’re invited to ETERNITYLAND, a fantastical world that’ll leave you unsure if you’re watching a show or if you’re a part of it. The 1000m2 pop-up will sprawl across Barangaroo’s streets throughout August & September, inviting guests to follow their curiosity as they proceed through a series of 20 fantastical rooms.

Encounter the heroes and heroines of myths and legends, battle monsters through a strange and splendid landscape escape a villainous clown and discover a moment of respite from the weird and wacky characters in a magical hidden bar, all in this other-worldly realm of wonderful and unexpected.

“Stepping into ETERNITYLAND is like stepping into an epic television show like Squid Game or Westworld. Only you won’t die!” – Danielle Harvey, ETERNITYLAND Creative Director.

If you dropped into the Department of Legend & Myth (D.L.M) for a magical elixir during Vivid, you’ll have spied a glance into the weird and wonderful that ETERNITYLAND will offer. The D.L.M will now open its hidden doors once more, unlocking a portal to another dimension.  This captivating type of immersive experience has already taken cities like London, New York and Shanghai by storm and now, it’s Sydney’s turn to let imaginations run wild. Imitate your Hero/ine of choice as you navigate through a theatrical make-believe world with as much or as little participation as you choose.

ETERNITYLAND features an all-star line-up of art, theatre and film creatives with production design by Dan Porta, Matthew Aberline and Isabel Hudson, art direction by Natalie Verriest, video design by Sabrina Organo and Club Sandwich, costume design by Mason Browne and sound design by Julian Wessels. All conceived by the creative polymath Danielle Harvey (director of Festival of Dangerous Ideas and originating director of A Midnight Visit), ETERNITYLAND will premiere with two weeks of previews from 3 August, before officially opening on 17 August.
