Shortstop is Hosting a Donut Making Masterclass in Sydney

Cafes, Eat, Play, Sydney / 24 April 2019

Ever wanted to master the art of donut making at home? Now’s your chance, thanks to cult donut lords Shortstop.

As you munch down on your favourite sugar coated or glaze adorned donut, do you ever wonder about the behind-the-scenes art of donut making? With plenty of finesse and skill at play, now is your chance to get baking thanks to Shortstop Coffee and Donuts.
Shortstop will be running five masterclasses over the next four months, so pick your date and lock it in the diary. Shortstop’s Head Donut Maker, Natalie Waugh, is set to guide you through a unique hands-on experience. Kicking off at the Barangaroo outpost in Sydney, you’ll get the chance whip up some delicious donut creations at this special after-hours experience.
Your class begins with Natalie taking you through the process of making dough from scratch, before you get the chance to roll and cut your donuts to size. From there you’ll learn to make some fresh glazes from scratch, before frying the donuts and finishing them off in three tasty ways.
During the class, you’ll also be treated to fresh cinnamon donuts (yum) and batch brew coffee (double yum). If that wasn’t enough, you’ll leave the class with a box of yeast-raised donuts, recipes from the class, and a $10 voucher for Shortstop Coffee & Donuts.
As this is a hands on class, all participants are instructed to wear enclosed footwear and bring an apron as well – or wear an old t-shirt. Donut making is serious business, after all.
