Double Deuce, the new 70s-inspired cocktail bar is finally open

Drink, Sydney / 11 July 2019

Expect a furry wall, plenty of booths and a touch of Ramblin’ raucousness at the new Double Deuce Lounge.

Ramblin Rascal Tavern is best known as the dive bar serving up ‘shit’ tinnies, a strong cognac menu and a no nonsense attitude. After opening its doors back in 2014, owners of Ramblin’ Charlie Lehmann, Sebastian Soto and Dardan Shervashidze have at last opened their newest passion project, Double Deuce.

Taking over the old Bouche on Bridge basement, the new 80-seater cocktail lounge is set to add some serious 70s nostalgia to Sydney’s CBD. You’ll find plush lounges, slick leather booths and even a furry wall to stroke (recommended after one too many cocktails).

The space will focus on cocktails and wine, without aligning itself to any one particular spirit on the menu. The legends at P&V Merchants have also curated a list of natural wines to feature on the drinks menu.

Whilst retaining the same Ramblin’ Rascal edge, the new site will be upping the class game. Guests can expect table service and a more refined cocktail offering.

Double Deuce will sit in good company at the northern end of the CBD, the recently opened 50s-inspired bar Maybe Sammy a mere five minute walk away. You’ll also got Mary’s Basement within walking distance, and for the steak lovers, let’s not forget about Bistecca.
