The highly acclaimed multi-sensory series, DARKFIELD, is set to make a triumphant return to the city, promising an unparalleled journey into the depths of human psychology and perception.
Sydney, having already witnessed a record-breaking season earlier this year, eagerly awaits the arrival of all four shipping container experiences – SÉANCE, FLIGHT, COMA, and EULOGY – at Harbour Park in Barangaroo from November 23, 2023, to January 21, 2024.
Produced in Australia by Realscape Productions, DARKFIELD’s unique blend of technology and theatre is a testament to its ability to push the boundaries of immersive experiences. The upcoming season introduces the New South Wales premiere of two spellbinding experiences – COMA and EULOGY. These join the returning favourites, SÉANCE and FLIGHT, ensuring that both newcomers and those who missed out earlier in the year get a chance to delve into the mysterious worlds that unfold within the confines of shipping containers.
DARKFIELD invites its audience to step inside these containers, where strange and mysterious realms come to life through immersive 360-degree audio experiences. Each experience is designed to challenge the senses, offering an exploration of the human psyche in ways both strange and profound.

COMA
In the realm of COMA, the moment of waking becomes the inception of a dream. Participants are thrust into the depths of their own minds, confronted with unspeakable things lurking in the dark recesses. A placebo and a promise are the offered cure, with a reminder to take your body when you leave.
EULOGY
EULOGY beckons participants into DARKFIELD, an imagined labyrinthine hotel in the darkness. Utilising speech recognition technology, guests embark on an intense and exhilarating journey through rooms and corridors, exploring the relative merits of an embodied human conscious experience versus one existing solely in the imagination.
SÉANCE
Step inside but don’t get too comfortable – SÉANCE is an intense sonic performance that probes the psychology of a group bombarded with suggestible material. In complete darkness, senses become vulnerable to persuasion, making an open mind the only prerequisite.
FLIGHT
FLIGHT navigates through two worlds, two realities, and two outcomes. Drawing inspiration from the many worlds’ interpretation of Quantum Mechanics, it assures the audience that for every ill-advised choice, there’s a version of them making better ones in a parallel universe.
