Get ready for two multi-sensory, immersive experiences at the Powerhouse Museum.
Ever imagine what it’d be like to have all your senses shut off except for sound? The team at Darkfield is making its big return to Sydney, with two sensory experiences here until May. If you’re seeking an adventure that’s equal parts spine-chilling and equal parts unnerving, search no further. Darkfield is a cutting-edge, sound-driven experience that envelops you in complete darkness, unleashing your innermost fears. The highly anticipated Flight (making its NSW premiere) and the long-awaited return of Séance since its debut in 2017, promise an unparalleled journey into a world that will send shivers down your spine.
Darkfield takes place in bespoke shipping containers (which have been temporarily placed outside the Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo). Blending cutting-edge technology, immersive theatre, and spine-tingling horror, this unique experience transports you to an alternate realm, encased in total darkness. Within a confined space equipped with headphones, you’ll be brought along for a fully enveloping audio journey.
Buckle up and get ready to fly with Flight, an adrenaline-filled ride that takes place in a plane cabin 30,000 feet above ground. Hold on tight as you experience not just one, but two realities and two potential outcomes. Flight delves into the fascinating concept of parallel worlds existing simultaneously where all potential outcomes are happening at once. Brace yourself for a journey that will challenge not only your imagination but your perception of reality too.
Séance is a fan-favourite 20 minute experience that features an immersive supernatural encounter. You’ll be placed at the heart of a thrilling spiritual experience, alongside your group of fellow ‘participants’. Using cutting-edge binaural sound, the container is transformed into a Victorian séance room, creating an intense and realistic audio experience. Are you brave enough to step inside and summon something from the otherworldly realm?
Darkfield is all about embracing the depths of your fears and anxieties, then guiding you back to the other side. With limited time at the Powerhouse Museum, tickets are expected to go fast! Both Flight and Séance experiences will be available until Sunday 2nd July, with frequent varied times on all days.
