Thought Vivid couldn’t get any brighter? Think again!
Remember those whispers of a dazzling light show hidden beneath Sydney’s streets? Well, they’re back for another year. Vivid Sydney’s Dark Spectrum is returning in 2024, ready to transform the abandoned railway tunnels under Wynyard Station into a luminous labyrinth once more.
This isn’t just a repeat performance, though. Dark Spectrum: A New Journey promises fresh thrills for those who ventured into its depths last year.
Attendees will venture into a subterranean world bathed in colour and navigate the one-kilometre trail where eight themed chambers unfold, each pulsating with its unique hue and soundscape. This year, the experience draws inspiration from the past 30 years of club culture, promising a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
Guests will be dazzled by a symphony of light and sound. Three hundred rhythmic lasers and strobe lights will dance across the cavernous space, while 500 hand-crafted lanterns cast a warm glow. Searchlights will pierce the darkness, guiding your way through the labyrinth, while 700 illuminated arrows ensure you don’t miss a single dazzling corner.
The soundtrack to this underground adventure? A selection of club anthems spanning the last three decades, curated by Sony Music Entertainment. Feel free to move to the music – a spontaneous dance amidst the pulsating lights is not only allowed but encouraged.
Dark Spectrum: A New Journey aligns perfectly with Vivid Sydney’s 2024 theme of exploring what makes us human. It promises to foster connection, spark imagination, and showcase the power of creativity to transform a hidden space into a captivating experience.
This year’s experience runs from May 24 to June 15, 2024, as part of Vivid Sydney. The self-guided experience allows you to explore at your own pace, with sessions running from midday until 9.15 pm.
