SILY has just announced a new instalment to the gripping event series dedicated to two of our favourite things; True Crime and Cocktails.
Back for another round of Cocktails and Crime Stories – Max Burns-McRuvie returns to SILY this month to uncover the forgotten underworld of Sydney’s troublesome past. A collection of notorious murder and crime stories from 19th and 20th century Sydney is set to be regaled alongside a selection of SILY’s most beloved cocktails.
From great escapes and infamous jailbreak stories matched with everybody’s favourite caffeinated cocktail; to an array of alcohol-related atrocities that once shocked the city, the first episode, Escapes and Espresso Martinis will dig up dirt on Sydney’s true crime history through good old-fashioned storytelling.
Traverse tropical tales of maritime crime that are hidden in Australia’s sea-faring, rum-infused past in an episode dedicated to Pirates & Piña Coladas. And revisit the most feared murderers in Australia’s history with Spritzers to cool down during a Spritz & Serial Killers storytelling sesh.
While enjoying SILY’s premium cocktails in style (one signature cocktail included with your entry ticket) you’ll uncover a forgotten underworld of drunkenness and debauchery that caused the death and demise of many Sydney-siders over 19th and 20th centuries.
Tickets are $30, which includes a gin cocktail on arrival, and can be found HERE, along with tickets to the upcoming editions.
