Bulletin Place Is Transforming Into A Truffle Lovers Treasure Trove

Cool Sh*t, Eat, Festivals, Food Guide / 28 June 2022

Secure your loot of the beloved winter delicacy as Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel transforms Bulletin Place into an epicurean oasis featuring truffled deserts, hot truffled cocktails, a truffle hunt, and a truffle masterclass.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for truffle lovers! With special truffle-themed menus and events popping up across the city, we can’t wait to start over-indulging in the caviar of the fungi world this winter. For two nights commencing Thursday 7th July, we’re headed on an epicurean excursion through Sydney’s backstreets starting at Bulletin Laneway’s rustic pop-up truffle garden lounge.

The Laneway Truffle Garden Lounge & Stall

The Garden Lounge has been brought to life by the award-winning culinary team from Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel’s Silvester’s Restaurant and Three Bottle Man, in partnership with The Truffle Farm. Kick back to provincial garden vibes as you’re transported to the warmth and cosiness of the Truffle Farm.

Michelin Star-trained chef Raphael Szurek will be shaving up truffled delicacies between 5.30-8.30 pm including a toasted hazelnut truffle-cream soup to soothe even the most wintery of woes. Also on the menu is a gourmet warm truffle and Monte Rosso cheese toastie, perfectly paired with an Eden Road wine offering featuring their 2019 Vintage Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Syrah and 2021 Riesling. For dessert, Szurek has designed a unique savoury-meets-sweet truffled crème brûlée that we can’t wait to smack our lips around.

The Gourmet Truffle Store

To ensure your truffle tasting extends well beyond the winter season, don’t forget to pay a visit to The Gourmet Truffle Store. They’ve lined up the most decadent selection of premium, limited-edition truffle products including truffles by the gram from The Truffle Farm, truffle salts, oils, pastes, chocolate truffles and much more.

The Truffle Masterclass

For one night only, truffle buffs can join producers for an immersive masterclass of all things fungi. Raphael Szurek, who was trained under the “pope” of French cuisine, Paul Bocuse himself, will lead a live cooking demo with guests feasting on the finished dish as well as sipping one-of-a-kind truffle cocktails. All guests take home a box of chocolate truffles, a DIY truffle dish package which they can make at home, plus a commemorative ‘Master of Truffle’ certificate. Seats are very limited so be sure to secure your seat here to avoid disappointment!
