A Four-Day Whisky Festival Is Landing In The Rocks This Autumn

Bars, Drink, Sydney / 18 March 2022

Whisky lovers, here’s the must-see event of the season.

This autumn, we’ll all be heading outdoors to enjoy the best our sparkling city has to offer. For those with a love for all things whisky, we’ve found the perfect whisky-fuelled festival set to roam through one of Sydney’s most historic neighbourhoods, The Rocks.

Get ready for Whisk(e)y on The Rocks, running from Thursday, April 28th to Sunday, May 1st. Get ready to explore one of the city’s old precincts as you sip your way through some of the world’s best whiskies.

This epic roaming festival will take Sydneysiders on a two-and-a-half-hour journey through The Rocks Festival Zones, with tastings and inspiring whisky activations to explore. Plus, they’ll even be The Rocks Whisk(e)y Trail, giving punters a chance to explore the participating bars, pubs, and restaurants that make The Rocks a foodie hot spot.

There are three dedicated zones at the Whisk(e)y on The Rocks Festival, including First Fleet Park, Campbell’s Cove and Playfair Street. Here’s a snapshot of what you can expect at each:

  • Zone 1 – First Fleet Park: Sample some of the world-leading Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from Glenfiddich inside its iconic Whisky Wanderer Bus. Sit in on a masterclass – a classic 1972 Double Decker Bus converted into a luxury whisky lounge on wheels.
  • Zone 2 – Campbell’s Cove: Shift the excitement into gear at the Johnnie Highball Food Truck – a sensory experience where drinkers will receive a Blood Orange and Lemon Highball with snacks designed to pair with the two flavours.
  • Zone 3 – Playfair Street: Mr. Black will be delivering the party with a Coffee Cocktail Carnival where coffee and whisky will meet in a uniquely delicious way. Visitors will get to sample the delicious Mr Black cocktails from the Maybe Sammy team at the Black Caffeine Caravan, while also having the chance to take home the brand’s iconic Mr Black Coffee Liquor to whip up a cocktail of their own at home!

Once you’ve wrapped up your two-and-a-half-hour journey through the festival zones, head to The Rocks Whisk(e)y Trail. Discover Craft Australian whisky brand collaborations at the incredible new Hickson House Distillery and seek out international brand collaborations throughout The Rocks with Maybe Sammy, The Push, Harbour Rocks Hotel, Doss House, The Glenmore and The Mercantile.

Tickets for the Whisk(e)y on The Rocks festival are on sale now ($35, which includes festival access and 8x sample tokens). Sessions will be running from April 28th to May 1st with multiple sessions on each date. To find out more and secure your spot, click here.
