This hole in the wall restaurant is serving up an authentic Spanish menu from the foodie precinct, Kensington Street in Chippendale.

Take a walk down buzzing Kensington Street and you may miss this little hole in the wall restaurant. But take a closer look and you’ll find that Paripe is a cool and casual style venue offering an authentic Spanish menu to make you feel like you’re in a plaza in Madrid. The bustling yet relaxed atmosphere in this charming little Chippendale dining street puts you at your ease and makes it feel like a real getaway.

The quaint little cottage offers mostly alfresco dining on the street, or you park at the bar to watch the Maestro in action as you sample their great range of cocktails. Like the Passionaria, a vodka, sherry and passionfruit cocktail that is refreshing and perfect to unwind for the weekend. There is also a small dining room next to the kitchen if you’re looking for inspiration as you watch the whole array of Spanish classics being brought out.

Their menu offers the full range of Aperitivos, Pinchos and Tapas that makes you want to try everything. Luckily the small portions and very reasonable prices allow you to do just that! The simple yet high-quality dishes like Boquerones, Jamon Iberico and Manchego cheese are perfect to nibble on while enjoying the people watching and buzz on the street.

No Spanish restaurant would be complete without Spanish Chorizo, Garlic Prawns or Patatas Bravas. What better way to wash all this great fare down than with a jug of Sangria or their well-curated list of Spanish wine? There is also an extensive spirits list and a great selection of beers to choose from.

This buzzing venue has something for everyone with Happy Hour on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and a great offering for hospitality staff on Sunday nights. There is also talk of a Sunday Paella coming, so watch this space!

If you’re looking for a buzzing, quaint and authentic restaurant that offers great food and drinks but doesn’t break the bank then Paripe is the place. A great place for date night or to catch up with a couple of friends.
