Centro 86, the sultry agave bar from the team behind MUCHO Group, is giving tequila lovers a reason to cancel their Wednesday plans.
They’ve just launched Tequila de Primera, a weekly celebration of Extra-Rare Tequila, poured straight from the backbar for as little as $13 a glass.
This isn’t your average margarita mixer. We’re talking bottles that rarely leave Mexico. Think small-batch spirits fermented with 75-year-old wild yeast strains, or distilled by families who’ve passed down their methods for five generations. Some are even made using a mechanical Frankenstein-style tahona—a one-of-a-kind agave crusher assembled from salvaged industrial parts. In other words: stuff you can’t just pick up at your local.
Each Wednesday, the Centro 86 crew cracks open one rare bottle from their ever-growing library of 100+ hand-selected tequilas and mezcals, many sourced during boots-on-the-ground trips across Jalisco and Oaxaca. And instead of slapping on a premium price, they’re serving it up at cost just so you can taste the true craftsmanship without the usual sting.
“At Centro 86, we’re all about connection – connecting our guests to the stories, places and producers behind every bottle,” says Jeremy Blackmore, Creative Director at MUCHO Group. “And flavour is the best way to do that.”
This midweek ritual isn’t just for seasoned sippers. Whether you’re a curious newcomer or an agave aficionado, Tequila de Primera is your passport to the layered, often mind-blowing world of artisanal tequila.
Pair your pour with a snack from the Centro 86 bar menu, settle in, and let the spirit (literally) move you.
