Get your taco fix at El Camino Cantina with their new Taco Topia menu.
When it comes to Tex-Mex cuisine, most would first think of the humble taco. Versatile in its fillings and its casing (I’m on the soft shell bandwagon), tacos are a crowd favourite for a satisfying meal.
If the idea of tasty tacos, magnificent margaritas and never-ending nachos sound appealing, let me introduce you to your new regular, El Camino Cantina. Imagine a vibrant, Austin, Texas-inspired, Tex-Mex restaurant with neon lights and lively tunes. From the moment you step foot inside El Camino Cantina, you can’t help but revel in the modern barn-like atmosphere filled with a sea of colourful sombrero-wearing patrons.
Settle in and put your decision-making sombrero on when trying to decide what to order from the new dozen-long Taco Topia menu. Carnivores will enjoy the “Philly Mex”, comprising succulent sautéed steak, onion and capsicum, cheddar cheese, habanero tamarind sauce, and coriander, encased in a fresh house-made tortilla.
Also to try is the tender BBQ pulled pork taco, with onion, pickles, cabbage slaw, and coriander, which you can call “The Dirty Sanchez”.
“The Winger” will curb your hunger with popcorn chicken, shredded iceberg lettuce, pico de gallo, and spicy chilli mayo. The fresh “Frank Taco” encompasses crunchy tempura barramundi, corn and tomato salsa, habanero mango sauce, and coriander. Vegetarian options are also available, so be sure to ask for “The Cauli Cartel” and “Button Up”.
You can eat to your heart’s content as all tacos are $7, or $4 every Taco Tuesday (with a range of Standard $2 tacos and Cadillac $4 tacos also available). Don’t despair If you miss out on your Tuesday taco fix, The TP (Total Package) will give you bang for your buck with any three tacos for $19 as part of the Taco Topia menu. Winner winner taco dinner.
Of course, no Tex-Mex restaurant is without fajitas, burritos, burrito bowls, wings, and, in the case of El Camino Cantina, unlimited nachos with salsa. There are also churros with chocolate or salted caramel sauce for a cheeky sweet finish to your feast.
While devouring your Tex-Mex feast, tantalise your tastebuds further with a tasty tipple. A range of signature and evolving margaritas, Mexican beers, 100 tequilas, and mezcals will keep the options aplenty. Better yet, it’s Happy Hour on weekdays from 4-6pm.
Opt for the classic margarita or try the “Rita of the Month”, such as the popular Grape Nerd flavour. If you’re like me and can’t decide, order the paddle to try four different flavoured ‘ritas.
El Camino Cantina is the place to go for a fun night out with friends with its upbeat music and fun vibe. Whether you have a taco, a margarita, or both in hand at El Camino Cantina, your tastebuds will be thanking you.
El Camino Cantina is also located in The Rocks, Manly, Miranda and the Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park in NSW, Bowen Hills, Chermside, South Bank, and Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
