Sofitel Melbourne On Collins is transforming Sofi’s Lounge into a delightful setting inspired by none other than the beloved nanny, Mary Poppins.

Sprinkling some enchantment into your Saturday afternoons from 2:00pm to 4:30pm until the end of June, the hotel invites guests to immerse themselves in a whimsical world with a specially curated high tea experience. Pastry Chef David Hann, taking cues from the charm of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s multi-award-winning production of MARY POPPINS, has meticulously crafted a buffet-style high tea that will captivate fans of all ages. Hann’s splendid spread includes traditional high tea classics along with some unique, inspired additions that mirror the magic of the show.

Amongst the array of sandwiches, scones, and a chocolate fountain, guests will find edible chalkboards for a bit of creative fun. Moreover, the menu features imaginative dishes like ‘The Tu’ppence Coin’ – a sublime reimagining of the toffee apple flavour, elegantly presented in a tart shell with golden delicious apple emulsion and rich salted caramel parfait, garnished with the Tu-ppence logo.

‘A Spoonful Of Sugar’ promises to add a dash of excitement. Concealed beneath a thin layer of white chocolate and a dusting of ivory snow is a surprising burst of sour passionfruit, balanced with flavours of white chocolate and matcha. The ‘Smokey London Chocolate Slice’ is a nod to the city’s skyline, featuring a smoked veliche chocolate torte and a cocoa nappage, embellished with vibrant raspberry.

The little ones and the young at heart will delight in the mini Mary Poppins hat-topped black forest flavoured profiteroles, filled with dark chocolate and topped with cherry gel.

The menu also boasts a selection of Mary Poppins-themed dishes, such as Dingley Dell Shepherd’s Pie, Mrs Kirk’s Cheddar Cheese with Branston Pickle, Berts Jacket Opera, and Poppin’ chocolate cups with tea cake biscotti.
