Welcome bloomin’ marvellous Spring soirees at Saké Restaurant & Bar with cherry blossom champagne dinners and cocktails.
It’s finally that time of year. Whilst budding flowers are coaxed by the warming sun, Saké Restaurant & Bar are offering exclusive champagne dinners and special cocktails.
Saké Restaurant & Bar have been spoiling us for some time now with contemporary Japanese cuisine and beautifully fresh sushi. This September, relax under canopies of pink petals reminiscent of the stunning cherry blossoms (sakura) that flourish in Kyoto, Japan. The best part? You don’t even need to jump on a plane to celebrate the time-honoured Japanese cherry blossom festival (hanami).
Saké The Rocks in Sydney, Saké Eagle Street Pier in Brisbane and Saké Hamer Hall in Melbourne will present exclusive six course cherry blossom champagne dinners ($290 per person) that will feature dishes from their Head Chefs from around Australia.
Be greeted with a NV Moet & Chandon Rosé Imperial on arrival. Then dabble in snow crab sunomono of seaweed, cucumber and caviar salad with a vinegar based sauce to cleanse your palate.
For the next round, a range of seasonal sashimi is sure to please, which includes locally-caught garfish, scampi and uni ikura.
But wait, there’s more. Move to the truffle cheese pork mille-feuille katsu with balsamic sauce, watercress, red onion and baby shiso before devouring the steamed king salmon.
To follow is the succulent duck breast with blueberry and beetroot puree, seasonal greens with plum vinaigrette and duck jus.
Each main is perfectly matched with a rosé, including a NV Veuve Clicquot, NV Ruinart, 2009 Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage, 2008 Veuve Clicquot Vintage and a 2005 Dom Perignon.
The finale is a delicious sakura infused apple tarte with shiso ice cream.
Five cherry blossom themed cocktails are also on offer at Saké Flinders Lane and Saké Double Bay, including the “Signature Cherry”, featuring vodka, Sakura Vermouth and cherry shrub. Or try the “Blushing Blossom”, combining whisky, Heering Cherry Liquer, Choya Uji Green Tea Umeshu, honey water, yuzu juice, passionfruit and egg white.
With the coming of the new season, shed the winter blues and regenerate your taste buds with the offerings at Saké Restaurant & Bar. Just like the wonderful but short-lived cherry blossom season, the exclusive dinners are here for one night only at each venue, so get in quick.
