A Free Dumpling and Music Festival is Coming

What’s better than a dumpling festival? How about a FREE one?

Hold onto your hats, a free dumpling and music festival is coming to Coburg Velodrome on Sunday 26th March. Kicking off at 12pm and running until 10pm, M Festival comes as a celebration of the Holi Festival, a traditional Nepalese festival of colour and love.
Prepare your stomaches for a mouth watering array of dumplings to be distributed at twelve different marquees. Each stand will boast unique Momo styles, as well as intricate folding techniques, recipes and flavours. Complementing these marquees will also be a variety of delicious food trucks, serving up distinctly Nepalese delights.

Worried that all that free food will leave you in a mid-afternoon slump? M Festival ia also hosting a very unique form of Eastern influenced entertainment, allowing you to dance off all those delicious dumplings (and make room for more!).
Headlining the HOLI MOMO main stage will be KUTUMBA, an internationally acclaimed Nepalese traditional folk band. Offering explosive high energy percussion and mystical soundscapes,KUTUMBA, are known to stun audiences at major world music festivals across the globe.

Supporting KUTUMBA will be JAKÜBI, whose unique soul influenced flavour stems from an irresistible combination of jangly guitars, hip-hop beats and sailing synth rhythms. Melding the sounds of a talk box one minute and reggae-inspired guitar the next, Jakübi effortlessly toe the line between classic soul, pop and infectious experimental.
Adding to the day’s festivities will also be a range of live performances from Chinese lion dancers, Indigenous dance groups, Bhangra performances and Brazilian dancers.

M Festival is a gold coin donation event, with all proceeds raised going to Non Resident Nepali Association’s Earthquake Reconstruction Project. Their goal is to to rebuild 1000 homes for victims of the 2015 Nepal Earthquake.
