Is it a sports bar, is it a pizza joint, is it a pub? Holy Moly, Hawthorn is all the things with some extra thrown in for, well, why the heck not?! Lunch, dinner and drinks are all covered at this gloriously outlandish establishment.

Located smack bang next to Glenferrie train station, if you’re looking for somewhere that serves cheap but totally tasty eats and a bev to watch the footy this Friday night, you just found it. Don’t like footy? Holy Moly has multiple massive screens mounted in bar proximity, so you can enjoy pretty much whichever sport you like. Hallelujah!
If watching sport really isn’t your thing you’ll be completely satisfied to chill with solid tunes and delightfully outrageous décor. We’re talking neon lights, a football field on the ceiling and images of Warney, Steve Bradbury and various other legends.

While sport is a heavy theme, it’s in a tongue-in-cheek way, strikingly juxtaposed with actual holy vibes with the likes of stained glass windows and Christian iconography. Think Sunday mass meets Sunday sports meets Sunday sesh.
When it comes to food, they’ve just relaunched their menu and there’s something for everyone. Holy Moly covers the classic pub parma, plus gives you a bunch of American diner style options like the juicy Holy Moly burger. With double beef, double cheese, streaky bacon, pickles, lettuce and sweet baby Ray’s bbq special sauce, you’ll hardly have room for the Southern Waffle Fries but you’ll probably want to eat them anyway (and you should).

The Grilled Cheese Cubano is a flavour-packed option — bacon, dill philly, red peppers, pickles and monterey jack cheese. Now there’s a 10 buck lunch you could get used to.

Their famed pizzas are a must-try – and at only $6 a pizza Monday to Friday from 11.30am until 4pm, you can afford to sample many! Gluten free and vegan options at Holy Moly means you don’t even have to exclude any of your mates from this date.

With trivia nights, karaoke and even coffee and donuts, the broad appeal and top-notch quality of Holy Moly’s offering certainly earns its praise.
