Rent a row of grapevines and make your own personalised wine with Austins & Co

Cool Sh*t, Drink, Melbourne / 12 December 2019

Be part of the new personalised winemaking experience at Austin’s Wines in the Moorabool Valley.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. That time of the year when everyone is scratching their heads trying to select the perfect gift. Instead of resorting to the usual pair of funny socks that your loved ones might be expecting, give them a unique gift this year thanks to Austin’s Rent a Vine.

The first of its kind in Geelong, Rent a Vine allows participants to rent a row of grapevines (named after you) at 5-star Halliday Winery, Austin’s Wines. Commencing in February 2020 and running for 12 months, participants will have the opportunity to create their own personalised vintage pinot noir.

Austin's Wines - Vineyard

This exclusive experience includes five catered workshops at Austin’s, including 20 hours with an Austin’s winemaker. Involvement is at every stage of the winemaking process including grape picking and crushing, vineyard pruning, blending, bottling and branding. At the end of the process, you get to take home two dozen bottles of personalised vintage pinot noir. Plus, those involved will receive 10% discount to the Austin’s Wine Club, access to an exclusive Facebook group for online updates throughout the year and the end of year celebration.

Austin's Wines - Pinot Noir

Austin’s Wines is not new to winemaking, having been in the business since the early 1980s. One of the largest single family holdings of pinot noir vines in Australia, they produce over 15,000 dozen bottles of pinot noir each year and have earned multiple awards and accolades. Austin’s have released some innovative new wines, including a limited edition harvest riesling and their first cuvee.

Get in quick – the Rent a Vine experience is limited to only 50 participants with places already running out. Single membership for the 12 months is $1,997. This is the ideal gift for wine lovers or for that special someone who deserves to be spoilt.
