Walking guide to Sydney's Vivid Festival

Food Guide, Play, Sydney / 28 May 2014

Vivid Sydney is here again and since there are so many ways to enjoy the spectacular display of lights, music and ideas we’ve put together a walking guide to make sure you don’t miss any of the good bits!
We suggest starting at The Star, Vivid Lounge in the Sky Terrace. Here you’ll find stunning views of the Harbour, city skyline as well as an awesome view of The Star’s own installation across the Astral Tower residence. Kick back on the deck chairs with a glass of sangria but don’t stay too long…there’s plenty to see.

From The Star head down to Darling Harbour for Vivid Aquatique- the most spectacular show of water, lights and music you’ll ever see. Shows are every hour on the hour from 6pm – 11pm nightly. Definitely not something to skip!

Then make your way to The Rocks to check out Vivid night markets. Grab something delicious, there are loads of sweet treats savoury servings. Spend some time shopping for vintage pieces, jewellery and artwork.

Next stop is MCA Bar & Restaurant at  The Museum of Contemporary Arts. MCA Bar has the most astounding display of lights across the building and while you’re here stop off for a beverage (they have a pretty outstanding wine list) before continuing your journey across Circular Quay.

Finally, you can’t go to Vivid Sydney without stopping by Opera Bar. This year Opera Bar has their own installation called ‘Garden of Neon’. The view from Opera Bar really can not be beaten with the sails of The Opera House lit up right above your head and just a stones through across the water the Harbour Bridge is lit up with LED lights of every colour you can imagine.

As this is the last stop for the night, I propose a bottle of wine! (can you see a theme emerging here?) relax in the neon lit garden, sip on something delicious and take in how lucky we are to live in such an amazing city.
