Rockpool Bar & Grill Melbourne is shaking up the dining scene with two new tableside experiences and its first-ever degustation dinners.

These additions promise to add flair and excitement to Rockpool Bar & Grill, perfect for special occasions or a memorable night out.

The Theatrics of Tableside Dining

In the heart of Melbourne, Rockpool Bar & Grill has always been a beacon of fine dining. Now, with the introduction of Chateaubriand and Lobster Thermidor tableside dining, the restaurant is taking its culinary artistry to new heights. Imagine the drama of having a 1kg Coppertree Farm Chateaubriand, grilled to perfection over a wood fire, brought directly to your table. Wrapped in pancetta, this tender cut of beef comes with a bone marrow and herb vinaigrette, prepared right before your eyes in a copper pot. This experience, priced at $350, is ideal for sharing among 4-5 people.

Lobster lovers are in for a treat with the Lobster Thermidor tableside experience. This dish features a half Eastern Rock Lobster, gratinated and dressed with brandy and shellfish oil. The finishing touch? A dramatic flambé, performed at your table. Each lobster is hand-dived in NSW and kept in Rockpool’s live tank until ordered, ensuring maximum freshness. The price is dependent on weight, averaging around $138 for 600 grams.

The Return of Degustation Dining

Rockpool Bar & Grill is not just about tableside theatrics. They are also bringing back the art of degustation dining. Known for their impeccable service and top-notch Australian produce, Rockpool Melbourne is launching its first degustation dinners due to popular demand in Sydney. Starting from 10 May, every Friday and Saturday night will feature a meticulously crafted five-course dinner designed by Executive Chef Santiago Aristizabal, who has been with Rockpool for 13 years.

Each dish in this degustation menu highlights the finest Australian ingredients, offering an elevated dining experience. The optional wine pairings, handpicked by the sommelier team, add another layer of indulgence. Held in the intimate setting of the restaurant’s semi-private Southbank room, enhancing the exclusive feel.

The degustation dinners will be available until 20 July. The five-course dinner is priced at $165 per person, starting from 10 May. From 1 June, guests can enjoy a nine-course dinner for $195 per person. Optional wine pairings are available for an additional $85, or $125 for a premium selection. Reservations can be made for times between 6:45pm and 7:30pm.
