In this strange Melbourne Autumn yet feels like Summer weather, you cant go past a classic Margarita. Refreshing, balanced and bitey, with its savoury salt rim, this traditional and iconic drink has been around for decades. Its now become Melbourne’s top cocktail of choice.

March is officially Margarita Month in Melbourne, and to celebrate this delicious drink, the Commune group (parents of the much loved venues Moonhouse, Tokyo Tina, Studio Amaro , New Quarter and Firebird) is doing something special. From 1-30 March, they have teamed up with Trombo Tequilla to spoil you and your mates with a surprise. They are offering any group of 8 an entire carafe complimentary with any booking, so you can shake rattle and let the marg times roll.

A spin on a classic

Participating venues are also bringing out a unique version of the drink in its own theme. Make sure you check out Studio Amaro’s Italian citrusy Limoncella Marg. A cool refreshing take using Tommy’s Limoncello, agave and lemon juice. For those with an aromatic palate, try  Tokyo Tina’s Japanese spin. This ‘Mizuchi Marg’ has hints of with lemongrass and ginger with an interesting togarashi salt rim. Heading over to our Chinese inspired cocktail rattlers down in Balaclava at Moonhouse, they are bringing out an Atypical Marg. This has a unique blend of cardamon, coriander and lemon myrtle with a chilli kick. Lastly – to fire things up, with the cocktail on everyone’s lips look no further than Prahran’s Firebrid. Naturally fitting to bring you this city’s finest Spicy Marg, laced with citrus notes of Pomelo, Bergamot, you’ll no doubt feel the burn with its halapeno tequilla, and go back wanting seconds.
