The famed Melbourne patisserie Lune Croissanterie is crossing the border and opening its first Sydney location.

 For Sydneysiders visiting our sister city down south, there’s plenty of spots to eat and drink. Shameless plugs aside, there are few spots that have garnered as much attention (and longer queues) than Melbourne’s Lune Croissanterie.

 Attracting early morning crowds at their iconic Fitzroy outpost (and also at their newly launched Melbourne CBD location), Lune’s perfectly crafted croissants have been garnering attention from pastry lovers across the globe. In a massive pat-on-the-back for founder Kate Reid and the team, Lune has even been dubbed as the world’s best croissant by New York Times food writer Oliver Strand back in 2016.

But before you go booking your flights to Melbourne, we have some very exciting news. The team from Lune is said to be in the works of securing their first Sydney location. Kate Reid has announced they are in discussions with three potential sites in Sydney, with Reid tight-lipped as to where the first Lune Sydney will find its home.

For the team, finding the perfect location is a big deal. It’s no surprise really, considering the level of attention and care poured into every layer of these oh-so-flaky croissants. Rather than merely open another outpost, Reid is passionate about bringing the energy and atmosphere that punters have come to expect from Lune Melbourne, elevating the typical grab-and-go pastry into a sit-down experience.

So, when can you expect to bite into melt-in-your-mouth butter croissants, Danishes, twice-baked almond croissants and more?
