Ramen is back on the menu at Toko during winter

Eat, Events, Sydney / 4 June 2019

It’s time to get #ramenready, as Toko serves up warming bowls of its much-loved ramen this winter.

Toko Sydney has been impressing Surry Hills locals and Japanese cuisine enthusiasts with their food and drinks menu since they first opened back in 2010.

Off the back of a successful pop ‘ramen club’ in 2017, their adored ramen is back, hitting the menu every Saturday throughout winter from 12pm till 3pm. Be warned though, there is limited availability, so don’t dawdle.

On the menu you can expect speciality ramen dishes including Truffle ramen with Toko’s truffle broth, combining asahi black chashu, hojicha egg, truffle cabbage and bamboo.

There’s also Yuzu ramen with a chicken yuzu broth, teamed with asahi black chashu, hojicha egg, yuzu koshou butter and bamboo.

For all those plant-based folk, there’s also vegan ramen with a vegetable broth, green tea soba noodles, grilled tofu assorted mushrooms, roast tomato, pea shoots and bamboo.

Another new comer on their snack menu is Toko’s swing on ‘fairy bread’, with nori rice chips, trout roe and scampi roe. Plus, check out their selection of evolved gyoza, with flavours you probably won’t catch in Tokyo, including Wagyu beef, chicken and mozzarella, and pumpkin, pine nuts and goats cheese.

Or if you’re after a long winter lunch, Toko have updated their Kabuki tasting menu ($58pp), which you can pair with bottomless Prosecco or rose for $30 per person.
