Yonanas Healthy Sorbet Recipes

Yonanas-902-vs-901

For us, summer is all about ice cream and bikini season but somehow those two don’t really compliment each other. In our search for healthy gelato, we came across Yonanas. A DIY ice cream maker that turns frozen fruit into soft serves and sorbet at home.

The process is super easy, simply peel and freeze your favourite fruits, turn on the machine, put your frozen fruit into the Yonanas machine by using the plunger, watch it churn the fruit into a soft mix, collect it in a bowl and enjoy! It’s a great way to use up old fruit or fruit that has been bruised.

It allows your to make gelato from 100% fruit and comes out looking like soft serve. It cuts out dairy, gluten, added sugar and preservatives often found in store-bought ice-cream, frozen yoghurt and sorbet.

We had a chat with Yonanas and got them to send us a few of their favourite recipes (below)!

What to make with your Yononas machine

Keep it simple or get creative with your flavours.  Create an acai breakfast bowl with frozen banana, acai powder, chia seeds, and blueberries topped with crushed almonds. Fruit sorbets can be made with lemons and raspberries, mangoes, pineapples, kiwis, and peaches or add frozen banana to create more of a creamy soft serve.

Pimp your fruit with dark chocolate or go all out by combining fruit with champagne, wine or spirits to easily create homemade desserts like tiramisu.

Add spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to banana and apple to create a healthy apple pie treat. Gym junkies can add protein powder to frozen banana and berries for the ultimate post-gym snack.
