Zoo Brew is about to arrive at one of Sydney’s most iconic attractions, Taronga Zoo.
There is a rumble in the jungle, and it is hungry for beer. From the 21st until 23rd of July, Zoo Brew is bringing some of the world’s most renowned bitter beers and celebrated ciders to Sydney. This is no ordinary family day at the zoo.
Kicking off on Friday night, guests have the opportunity to dine in a five course degustation dinner at the Taronga Centre. Perfect for beer lovers, the restaurant team will partner a raft of schooners and stubbies with a menu designed to be enjoyed over a cold one, or two.
Then, on Saturday and Sunday, the festival will continue, with two full days of pure beer enjoyment. Uniting over 25 breweries Zoo Brew will welcome a host of international and local names to Taronga Zoo as part of the weekend long event. Canberra’s own BentSpoke Brewing Co., beer makers Little Creatures from Fremantle and the fruity flavours of the Gold Coast’s XPA, are just some of the exhibitors that will be on show at Zoo Brew.
General Manager at the Taronga Centre, Patrick Maher says that this three-day beer festival is uniquely Sydney event.
“Festivalgoers will be able to taste the delights of some of Australia’s most recognised breweries, some undiscovered gems, and top gourmet food favourites that we have gathered in one truly amazing location,” Maher said. “Where else could you stand on a beautiful terrace and enjoy a cold beer while overlooking Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and of course Taronga Zoo?”
Zoo Brew is the first part of the Taronga Centre’s ‘Taste the Wild’ events. ‘Taste the Wild’ hopes to promote the use of sustainable products that are sourced ethically. Drinkers at Zoo Brew will be encouraged to be environmentally conscious and will be given re-useable tasting cups for the day.
Tickets for Friday’s degustation dinner are available for $150, and day passes to the Zoo Brew festival can be purchased for $40.
