Jimmy Russell is the world’s longest-tenured, active Master Distiller. He’s known as the ‘Buddha of Bourbon,’ the ‘Master Distiller’s Master Distiller’ and the ‘Elder Statesman.’ He has been the Master Distiller at Wild Turkey’s Lawrenceburg, Kentucky distillery for a remarkable 60 years. Working alongside him for the past 33 years is his son Eddie Russell.
To recognise Jimmy’s milestone and diamond anniversary Eddie wanted to create something extra special.
He hand-selected rare barrels that had been ageing for 13 to 16 years (nearly twice as long as Wild Turkey 101) to yield a spirit with tantalising notes of caramel and vanilla, and a spicy oak finish.
The result was the Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary.
To celebrate the release of this special bourbon and Father’s Day Wild Turkey invited a select few to join them for a VIP dinner at Rockpool on Bridge Street and encouraged to bring their father’s along with them.
Hosted by Gruppo Campari brand ambassador, Oliver Stuart the evening was an intimate affair and an opportunity to try not only the Diamond Anniversary but the Russell’s Reserve 10 Year Old and The Forgiven.
Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary is presented in an elegant commemorative wooden box is 91 proof (45.5% ABV) and RRP for $150
