Australia’s indulgent truffle season is upon us. Here are the best places to eat them.

The commencement of the cooler months coincides with the flavoursome and fragrant season of truffle harvest, winter’s most treasured ingredient. Here are our top picks on where you can eat this prized ingredient.

Bentley Restaurant and Bar

To kick off the season, Bentley will offer an eight-course truffle tasting menu featuring WA’s finest Commer Truffles from Manjimup on the 6th and 7th of July. Your night of pure indulgence will begin with Parfait Madeira and Storm Clam Custard, followed by Bay Lobster and Ranger’s Valley Chuck Tail, as well as Honey Ice Cream and Petit Fours, all kissed with these rare and exclusive winter truffles. Prince of York

Party venue and dining destination Prince Of York has launched the Truffle Shuffle, a series of dinners featuring the incredible truffles foraged at Kanimbla Valley Truffle Farm. Chef Sam Bull, Jordan McLeod and Ben McRae have each designed a four-course meal to be enjoyed over three delicious truffle-filled evenings. Soul Dining

Contemporary Korean restaurant Soul Dining has created an exclusive truffle menu featuring Robertson Truffles from the Southern Highlands. The chefs have crafted a number of decadent dishes including Cacio e Pepe, an Italian take on the Korean Tteokbokki, and the Truffle Wagyu Pot Rice, which comprises rice made with truffle paste and soy sauce, topped with MB9+ wagyu steak, sea urchin and fresh truffles. Rocker Bondi

Rocker Bondi is bringing truffle season to the east with a 5-course sharing feast showcasing the best of the Australian Truffles, matched with Pommery champagne. The menu features Spanner Crab Tartlet topped with truffle, Risotto with Pepe Saya Butter, Parmigiano Reggimano and lashings of shaved truffles, Basque Cheesecake with truffle honey, and more. The experience costs $110pp for meat-eaters or $90 for vegetarians, with the option to add matched wines. The dining series will run on Thursday 15th July and Thursday 12th August. Goodfield’s Eatery, Lindfield

Local gem Goodfield’s is welcoming back truffle season with a menu dedicated to celebrating Australia’s finest truffles. The menu features both sweet and savoury dishes including new innovative dishes and gourmet twists on some of its most popular dishes. Standouts include the Egmont Fried Chicken Hotcake with buttermilk fried chicken, Manuka honey, truffle whipped butter and shavings of truffles, as well as the Egmont Truffle Ice-Cream Brownie Sandwich with truffle ice-cream, brownie, truffle-infused chocolate and Egmont Manuka Honey puffed rice. This local Redfern café is celebrating the highly sought-after ingredient with the return of its truffle-inspired menu. Head Chef Fabian Mucke has developed a short menu of very moreish truffle dishes including Truffle Espresso Martini Tiramisu, Baked Triple Cream Brie with roast quince toast and Angel Hair Carbonara with smoked caviar; all served with lashings of shaved truffles. This Contemporary Australian restaurant inside Four Seasons Hotel has launched a delectable winter menu highlighting the holy grail truffle. The revamped menu is sure to satisfy all your truffle cravings this winter. Dishes include the Vol au vent with Parmigiano Reggiano, creamy custard and fresh black truffle, Ood-Roasted Camembert with endive black truffle and grilled focaccia, Potato Gnocchi with fresh black truffle, shitake, butter and parmesan, as well as a  luxurious Truffle Delice with beurre bosc pear, caramel financier and truffle ice cream. SMC is serving up a feast for the senses with a limited-edition meticulously crafted truffle-infused menu from Monday 21 June until Sunday 27 June to celebrate the Australian truffle season. Tuck into dishes including Baked Truffle Brie with truffled mascarpone, shaved truffle and walnuts, Truffle Pappardelle with house-made egg pappardelle, clarified butter, parmesan and freshly shaved truffles, as well as Truffle Gelato with caramelised truffle honey popcorn. Bulletin Place Laneway

For two nights only the Bulletin Place laneway will be transformed into a rustic winter truffle garden pop-up featuring Michelin Star-trained chef, Raphael Szurek and all things truffle from The Truffle Farm. You can expect a live cooking station with gourmet truffled delicacies including truffled Chicken Pâté with brioche, toasted Hazelnut Truffle-Cream Soup, truffled Crème Brulée, and gourmet warm Tuffle and Monte Rosso Cheese Toasty. The Mayflowers Chef Jiwan Choi has pimped up The Mayflowers daytime cafe menu with the luxurious truffle in nearly every dish. A highlight is the Croque Monsieur with Jamon Serrano, gruyere, béchamel, smoked mozzarella, dijon, truffle paste and guindillas, as well as the Mac and Cheese with truffle béchamel, 3 kinds of cheese, macaroni and chestnut porcini crumbs.
