Ok, now we’ve had this little conversation we can save you from having it with your friends. A new cocktail bar is opening on Oxford Street in Darlinghurst and it’s called This Must Be The Place. Comprende?
Award-winning bartenders and buddies, Charlie Ainsbury (previously of Eau De Vie) and Luke Ashton (previously of Vasco), are opening their first bar and the doors swing open tonight, Wednesday 18th February!
Luke and Charlie have both made Australia proud winning the Australian finals for Diageo’s World Class Competition in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Going on to compete in the global finals Charlie placed 6th in the world last year and Luke placed 8th in 2013. So it’s safe to say this dream team are expected to set the bar high (no pun intended) with some impressive cocktails.
The bar design is minimal, think Dutch simplicity with lots of natural wood and earthy tones. They’re using fresh produce to create house-made syrups, sodas and cold-pressed juices. Seasonal fruits and herbs will be the inspiration behind each cocktail. You can also expect some cocktails on tap, craft beer and wine.
With all the extra fruit and herbs being used in house, there is no reason to feel guilty about checking out this new bar, in case you needed some encouragement.
