With a state-of-the-art roastery and sleek events space, The Grounds of South Eveleigh is set to be amongst Sydney’s best venues.
You can’t call yourself a Sydneysider if you haven’t spent countless weekends strolling around The Grounds of Alexandria. From sipping coffee, smelling the roses, planning your dream wedding in The Linseed House, eating fresh cinnamon and jam doughnuts from the cart stores and of course, greeting the pen residents, there’s plenty to do and there’s no wonder it’s one of our favourite pastimes.
The iconic destination is set to expand with a sparkling new venue in the South Eveleigh precinct, formerly known as the Australian Technology Park. As with everything The Grounds does, it’s all about a multi-faceted experience for the customers and the new venue will boast an industrial coffee roastery, The Grounds Coffee Roastery, as well as an elevated events space, The Eveleigh. After 6 years in the marking, these two spaces are set to open early next year and here’s what you can expect.
The Grounds Coffee Roastery invites the community to sip and learn, no matter their coffee expertise. Guests will be immersed in a sensory coffee experience where you’ll watch the entire coffee-making process from bean to cup. No matter if you undertake coffee workshops or simply perch up for a brew on your lunch break, you’re sure to learn something new with each visit. Since a snack is always welcome with a cup of coffee, the team has curated a breakfast menu inspired by the site’s historical canteen, a hub that was designed to nourish busy workers of the golden era.
The Grounds is known for its extraordinary events spaces so it’s no surprise they have brought one along to South Eveleigh. The Eveleigh combines the Grounds beauty with the rich history of the building to create something truly unique. The place looks like something out of a fairytale boasting low industrial chandeliers, white table clothes with beautiful place settings, a wrapped staircase and a premium bar on site. Whether it’s an engagement or wedding celebration, a special milestone, the venue will make an enchanting venue to make your event one to remember.
