Da Orazio Bondi, when you can't go to Italy, this is the next best thing
Da Orazio Bondi is a one-hatted Italian restaurant at The Hub on Hall Street, from Naples-born Chef Orazio D'Elia, who has been cooking at the beach since 2014. Wood-fired pizza, rotisserie porchetta, handmade pasta and coastal Italian cooking that earns its Good Food Guide hat without ever taking itself too seriously.
Orazio D'Elia grew up shaped by two grandmothers, one from Naples by the water and one from the mountains, and that dual inheritance shows in a menu that balances coastal lightness with mountain-hearty comfort. The Spicy Vodka Rigatoni has become a viral favourite and earns the attention, built on salsa di pomodoro, cream, vodka and fresh chilli. The Focaccia con Porchetta, rotisserie porchetta with chilli marinated eggplant and mayo in schiacciatina bread, is the other thing everyone orders. The Vitello Cotoletta alla Milanese and the Tuna Tartare alla Puttanesca round out a menu that is quietly more considered than its beachside setting suggests. One Good Food Guide Hat from 2022 to 2025.
