Feeling charitable? Like hot dudes? Love Dogs? Say hello to Strut with Mutts.
Ever fantasised about meeting the perfect guy? The one you meet on a night out over a few drinks. You profess your love for each other and the next thing you’re moving in and adopting a puppy together. The years roll on past and your love of animals (and each other) sees you grow old and live happily ever after. Well, this your chance to make it all a reality. Bars March 2017 are bringing all three great loves of ladies into one brand new event Strut with Mutts. On the 24th March, Bars March have organised the threesome of every woman’s dreams. Give us hounds, hunks and hooch any day, and darling, we’ve won the trifecta!
Grab your comfiest pair of sexy shoes, and March your way down to Frisco Hotel where it all begins. Rocking up to the party at 5pm the men will arrive – a collection of Sydney’s hottest personal trainer hunks, ready to Strut with Mutts. You’ve got an hour and a half to mingle and make your move towards the cutest thing around – whether it’s the dogs or the dudes. At a point between 6.30pm and 7pm (you never really can say when cocktails are involved, participants will begin strutting the catwalk. With Mutt’s in hand (AWL NSW shelter dogs), a trek will be endured all the way to The Carrington Surry Hills, amidst the likes of celebrity ambassadors, garden guru Jamie Durie and TV vet Dr Katrina Warren. The pooches and pecs will lead the way, while the delicious hooch wags you in!
Although frivolous and fun, Strut with Mutts exists on a serious note – to raise funds and awareness for the Animal Welfare League (AWL) NSW. By contributing to this event, you are fostering the continuation of the AWL’s efforts to care for surrendered, neglected and abandoned animals for over 50 years. Now that’s something we can drink to! Throughout the last youthful 8 years of Bar March’s existence, over $80,000 has been raised for Animal Welfare League NSW thanks Sydney’s love of a fine drink.
The night does not end at The Carrington! You heard it from R. Kelly in 2003, and we’re going to tell you again – after the show it’s the after party! Word has spread through the doors of some of Sydney’s most iconic bars. Throughout the month of March, an array of Sydney’s most renowned watering holes have created charity cocktail concoctions in support of the AWL. Jump aboard this good time train providing a fun-filled alternative to the feel good deprivations of fundraising efforts, and downright downers, ‘Dry July’ or ‘Ocsober’. Sip to save as a portion of the proceeds from purchase of these cocktails go to the AWL NSW.
Although the main attraction, Strut with Mutts is just a dip of a paw into the pool of Bars March’s fundraising efforts. Each participating venue will have on offer their limited edition doggy loving cocktails, for the entirety of March, giving every Sydneysider the chance to save a dog by having a drink. Beyond the monetary support, utilise the power of your social media and spread the word! Post a pretty ‘pawtrait’ of yourself and some of the ‘Strut with Mutts’ beauties around (canine or human), or simply share a snap of your charity cocktail creation! Remember to tag @BarsMarch, #barsmarch, #saveadoghaveadrink and share your supporting destination, for the opportunity to win from a pool of great prizes (we’re hoping for a puppy)!
If you want the eye candy to last longer than the night, take a piece home with you. Personal trainer hunks Scott Gooding, Dylan Rivier feature in the Dudes and Dogs 2017 Calendar. Available on the night, proceeds will add to Bar March’s fundraising efforts for the AWL NSW. Before you go, paws for a moment. It may be the hooch talking, but there is one loving, gorgeous, sweet-faced individual who you’ve been checking out all night. They’ve looked at you too, basically begging to be picked up. But not tonight. Think on it. In the morning, if you still feel like adopting that adorable pool, call the Animal Welfare League NSW and make an enquiry!
