Casual Eatery ‘Sandy’s’ Opens at Avalon Beach

Best Cheap Eats Sydney, Cafes, Eat, Sydney / 31 January 2022

Sandy’s has opened in Avalon Beach bringing super fresh sandwiches and salads to the Northern Beaches.

Located underneath Avalon’s favourite wine bar, Bar Elvina, the name gives reference to its beachside location, where shoes are optional, and feet are generally always sandy. There is comfy seating spilling out onto the footpath, where Avalon village provides a casual and relaxed atmosphere.

Sandys focuses on made-to-order sandwiches and nothing but the freshest salad ingredients. The menu is ever-evolving consisting largely of toasties, salads, and sandwiches, while customising your meal is highly recommended. Many of the ingredients are grown on the rooftop garden, including peppers, flowers, lemon balm, chilli’s, tomatoes, green beans and much more.

Caswell Group has fitted out the interiors complete with pink Turkish marble benchtops and custom red cedar gas lift windows. The space is refined and respects the casual beachside aesthetic.

The Sandy’s brand was designed by Paul McNeil, an ex-Mambo artist who has hand-drawn the logo and illustrations. The young caricature seen throughout the branding gives a nod to the 80’s surf grommet’s synonymous with the northern beaches.

Sandy’s is open Monday – Saturday from 10am-4pm.
