Sydney dining veteran Paola Toppi is making her most-loved recipes more accessible with Pasta Shop, a new casual pasta bar in Potts Point.
The woman behind iconic institution Machiavelli has transformed the former Sonora Mexican site into a vibey 35-seat diner where every dish sits under $30.
That includes her legendary 40-year-old spaghetti Machiavelli recipe, alongside 10 other artisanal pastas like spicy rigatoni alla vodka and fusilli crab.
Toppi’s spent two years perfecting custom-designed takeaway bowls that prevent overcooking during delivery to Eastern Suburbs homes, bringing decades of pasta knowledge straight to your door.
The Steel and Stitch-designed space features walnut timber tables, terracotta directors’ chairs, and a striking terracotta red wall, while the outdoor courtyard feels like an Italian oasis with lemon trees and mossy greenery.
The drinks list keeps things simple with rotating Italian wines, ready-to-pour Maybe Sammy negronis and margaritas, plus BYO available. Open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday and lunch Thursday to Sunday, no reservations required.
