Pelicano will reopen in Potts Point as a restaurant and lounge bar bringing new charm, laid-back vibes and Mediterranean flavours.
Mark your calendars: Pelicano, the iconic celebrity hotspot in Double Bay, is set to make a grand return on Friday, October 25, in a brand-new location. Housed in the former Hugo’s Lounge, this refreshed venue has transformed into a charming restaurant and lounge bar, featuring a new alfresco terrace that’s perfect for those balmy Sydney summer nights.
The culinary offerings promise to be a standout, blending Italian and Mediterranean flavours that resonate with Sydney’s current dining scene. Under the guidance of Executive Chef Jose Saulog, who also oversees the kitchens at Franca, Parlar, and Armorica, the new Pelicano menu showcases a delightful array of Mediterranean-inspired dishes with a distinctly Italian twist. From light bites to indulgent mains, there’s something for every palate. Expect classics like Parmesan Arancini and Fritto Misto alongside homemade flatbreads, complemented by signature dishes such as Flounder Meunière and Bistecca Delmonico.
Pelicano’s redesign pays homage to the artistic legacy of its original location, fusing pop art influences with a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. The alfresco dining area will be the go-to spot for sunset cocktails and mingling with friends.
Founder Andrew Becher expresses his excitement about breathing new life into Pelicano, describing it as a space designed to “bring people together for unforgettable moments.” Alongside its sister venues, Armorica, Franca, and Parlar, Pelicano aims to position Potts Point as the premier neighbourhood for dining and nightlife. As Kings Cross and Potts Point work to reclaim their nightlife scene, Pelicano’s reopening is a welcome addition, and we’re here for it.
Pelicano will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm until late. Book your table here.
