Opera Kitchen is back with a must-see food hall offering this month.
Located underneath the Sydney Opera House you’ll find Opera Kitchen, with uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour. In exciting news, the crew from Solotel Group (who also run neighbouring Opera Bar) are bringing this venue back to life as a vibrant market food hall with all-day-dining alongside the water.
Set to reopen on March 24th, Opera Kitchen will be reborn as an Italian-influenced bakery and pasta bar with a Japanese-influenced kitchen serving ramen and poke bowls until late.
The all-day venue will kick start the day with freshly baked focaccia, ricotta cannoli, paninis, and ricotta Nutella Cheesecake, along with freshly-made juices and coffee by Single O (all available for dine-in or takeaway).
For lunch, Opera Kitchen will be serving antipasto dishes such as burrata, bolognese arancini, and sugo as well as a must-try salumi plate. Expect comforting bowls of prawn and chilli spaghetti or rigatoni with veal ragu, as well as a delicious Italian Panzanella salad for a lighter option.
Plus, Opera Kitchen’s Japanese-inspired kitchen will be serving tuna or salmon sashimi, poached chicken or tofu poke bowls. There is a vegan kombu and tofu ramen as well as a tonkotsu ramen with braised pork, bamboo shoot, black fungi, and soy egg. Plus, you’ll even find a mouthwatering pork katsu sandwich filled with cabbage, Japanese Bull-Dog sauce, Kewpie mayonnaise and served with renkon chips on their menu.
To wash it all down, expect several sakes, umeshu, and yuzushu on the menu alongside an approachable wine list that favours Italian varietals by Australian producers. Plus, Opera Kitchen’s cocktail list leans on old favourites, including the classic Negroni and Old Fashioned, as well as refreshing new twists including the ‘Sundown’ (gin, sage, plum), Pomegranate Negroni, and Passionfruit Margarita.
