Sunday dinner and drinks come with a sing-a-long at Opera in the Pub
It’s your standard Sunday night. True to form at the end of the weekend you’ve settled down at the local pub for some quality banter, a drink or two and some good pub grub. Despite being the tried and true recipe for a solid Sunday night its bound to get a little repetitive. What can up the ante, do you ask? What about an Opera in the Pub? Weren’t expecting that one were you.
Presented by Opera Bites, Opera in the Pub brings together all the good parts of your textbook Sunday night and throws an opera into the mix, complete with a fully costumed cast and all the workings of a classic opera.
Following the success of their last sold out production in June, Opera in the Pub is returning to the Dove & Olive in Surry Hills and will no doubt be a sell out event. Performing The History of Opera, the troupe will trace the art back to its 15th century roots. Featuring famous opera arias, duets, ensembles and composers you’re bound to come across a few favourite tunes and may also be acquainted with some new ones.
Opera in the Pub takes all the classic components of a professional opera and adds a modern touch, allowing absolutely anyone to get involved in the action, whether they be a new comer or a seasoned opera goer who is looking for a fun and fresh take on the art.
Tickets are $69 (plus booking fee) and include a delicious Sunday pork roast or vegetarian risotto plus either a Coopers Pale Ale or house wine on arrival.
