Set within the tranquil garden grounds, serving yum cha lunches and high teas.
Sydney’s favourite gardens just landed another delicious dining destination, with the unveiling of One Dining! Nestled in Darling Harbour’s iconic Chinese Garden of Friendship, One Dining blends modern Chinese flavours with time-honoured traditions, offering a casual yet sophisticated ambience.
Built to symbolise the friendship between Sydney and the city of Guangzhou in China, the Chinese Garden of Friendship is designed using the philosophy of Feng Shui, balancing the elements of water, plants, stone, and architecture. It’s a space created for peace in the middle of the bustling city — take a stroll through intricate pavilions, ponds, and native and international flora. Right in the centre of the garden is where you’ll find One Dining. Sit back and enjoy an a la carte experience, yum cha lunch or indulge in a Chinese-inspired high tea.
Designed like an old tea house, the yum cha menu is equal parts modern and traditional. Enjoy steaming char siu pork buns, truffle wagyu spring rolls and pumpkin Southern Lobster dumplings. For larger dishes, opt for One Dining’s signature truffle fried rice, warm noodles with a spring onion-infused dressing or slow-cooked pork belly with noodle consommé. If you’re not feeling hungry, enjoy the scenery with a cup of Chinese tea instead, with all the great classics available like jasmine, China lychee and green Chai.
Alongside their a la carte menu, One Dining pays homage to Chinese cultural heritage by merging age-old wine and tea practices with a Chinese High Tea experience. Coming soon, the menu will include a selection of Chinese sweet and savoury delicacies, like buns and flaky pastries, alongside premium-quality teas. Finished with your meal? To make the most out of your visit, the team recommends checking out the new bamboo forest walk, ‘Meandering Pathway of Tranquillity’, which leads you throughout the Lotus Pavilion to finish at the tranquil waterfall.
One Dining is open from Monday to Sunday from 10:30 am – 4:30 pm. For more information, visit their website here.
