The highly anticipated Watson’s pub in Moore Park will open its doors just in time for Freedom Day!
The all-new Watson’s has entered the Sydney pub scene following a million-dollar renovation of the renowned PJ Gallagher’s Irish Pub. Located in The Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park, the venue is set to be your go-to spot for catching up with friends, celebrating special occasions, and everything in between.
The venue has a whole new look boasting two stories of bright, open spaces perfect for mingling. There’s a sun-drenched beer garden for long lunches and Sunday sessions with live music, a courtyard bar, and a 4-meter mega screen so you can catch all the sporting action. The alfresco deck is the stand-out feature sitting beneath 3 giant Moreton Bay Fig Trees that have been lined with fairy lights for alfresco dining. The place even makes the ideal casual date night spot!
The main bar and bistro have ample seating for diners and high tops if you like to chat with the bartenders. There are touches of greenery everywhere making the new space feel fresh and vibrant. The main bar is quite impressive with a spread of 32 beer taps. There’s also a function and event space on level one. It’s safe to say Watson’s is set to be Sydneysiders favourite playground this summer!
Watson’s will give you everything you want from a local pub including modern Australian twists on classic pub dishes. Whatever can be made in-house is and they only highlight the best local produce on the menu. Uriel Kilala, Head Chef of former Martin Place Bar is at the helm of the kitchen. The menu caters to everyone whether you’re grabbing a quick burger or schnitty, or settling in for an afternoon of sharing plates amongst friends.
The menu highlights include the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders with house ranch and pickles, the Old School French Onion Cob Loaf, the 1kg Ranger Valley Black Onyx Grain Fed Rib Eye and the whole braised Moroccan-spiced Lamb Shoulder with crispy polenta. Don’t worry, the kids will be sorted with Rigatoni Lamb Ragu or they can build their own Taco with Fried Buttermilk Chicken Tenders and all of the toppings. Sweet lovers can curb their cravings with a house-made Tiramisu or Warm Sticky Date Pudding with butterscotch sauce to finish.
