Monday
A few years ago I did Strut the Streets to help raise money for AIME Mentoring, a really worthwhile charity. Little did I know I’d be snapped and used as their pinup girl. Now, every year since, around November, the streets of the CBD are filled with giant banners of me in my bikini wearing a sailors hat and floaties. A little awkward but for a good cause. You can get involved by visiting their website here.
Tuesday
You know Christmas is soon approaching when David Jones do their annual festival festive window displays. I checked them out last Tuesday. My favourite window was the foodie one, of course!
Wednesday
I went to an Appleton Estate Rum dinner at Riley St Garage on Wednesday. The food and company was great but the highlight of my evening was getting to try some of the 50 year old Appleton. Only 800 bottles are available worldwide, 17 in Australia and it retails for over $5k a bottle. It was damn fine liquid.
Thursday
Speaking of drinking fine liquid, on Thursday night I joined Balvenie Whisky Global Ambassador Sam Simmons and other media for a special dinner at Chiswick.
Friday
Friday night was all about Champagne and the Moët & Chandon Chef de Cuisine, Pascal Tingaud for a special dinner at Bullion Bar, The Mint.
Saturday
On Saturday night I hosted a 1920’s Ketel One Bar Tour around Darlinghurst for a group of outta-towners. We started at Hazy Rose, then Owl House and finished at Down Town before they headed upstairs to The Commons for dinner.
Sunday
The weather in Sydney was horrible, nothing but dreary horizontal rain. So I stayed in bed and watched movie classics including Bette Midlers Beaches circa 1988. “You didn’t”. I did. It was awesome. Can’t get this song out of my head:
